The 2015 Tempranillo is blend of 70% Tempranillo and 30% Grenache. The Tejada Genache sits in eastern Lake county, near Blue Lake bordering Mendocino County. The cool breezes and the soils gives the blend its elegance and finesse. While the Madder Lake Vineyard, on the lower end of Clear Lake, compliments Tejada with its bigger more gripping character. The Madder Lake’s red hillside volcanic soils come from the 11,000-year-old eruption of Mt Konocti volcano. These volcanic soils lend to wines intense color, concentration, and dusty tannins.
